# Staking

While consensus-layer staking is not applicable, OpenLedger will support **protocol-level staking mechanisms** tied to utility and rewards within the ecosystem.

* During the **airdrop phase**, staking will be introduced to reward early supporters and active participants.
* **Post-TGE**, staking will continue to play a role in reward distribution and ecosystem engagement.

Yes, staking rewards will be available within the OpenLedger platform. These rewards are not tied to network security or validation but are distributed programmatically through smart contracts based on user activity and participation in designated programs.
